Anna Dello Russo - A Juxtapose of Style.

Today i found a new style crush in the form of Japanese Vogue editor, Anna Dello Russo.
Admittedly I didn't know much about her ,except she'd appeared in the Lanvin for H&M runway show about a month ago and i'd occasionally seen her on the style pages of a few magazines.
But Glamour changed all of this, the new issue features a six page interview/photoshoot with the style icon and gives readers an insight into a more quirkier and exciting style icon than usual.
Her wardrobe looks like its been handpicked by Patricia Field, with rail upon rail of embellished jackets, patterned dresses and a shoe collection that Carrie Bradshaw would be prowd of.
Anna's look is very 90's inspired, she pulls a juxtapose of colour and texture together to create something that modern day style icons such as Alexa Chung and Olivia Palermo would never even think of.

Yesterday, I Made A Turban.

Anyone who knows' me , will know how much I have wanted a turban ever since Carrie Bradshaw sported one in the newest Sex and the City film. So as part of my Inside Out Project for college , I decided to create one myself.
Two Needles, alot of impatience and three youtube videos later, here's the result .

A Look Into My Wardrobe

Mulberry Spring Summer 11 Campaign

As a seventeen year old girl, I probably look at ad campaigns and magazine spreads differently to an older women with a high salary.
For them an ad campaign is directed at them, they are being sold something that  they can purchase but for me as a fashion student, I lust after ad campaigns.
I see them as something I can't have , in theory this could make me appreciate them more,
As a lover of Mulberry, I spent the past few months collecting Mulberry Lookbooks, wondering aimelessly around Selfridges and flicking through issues of Vogue, all for a glimpse of the Mulberry Alexa.
And now its another season and another bag.
I can't help but get that yearning feeling in my stomach over this campaign, I love the toughness of the satchel against the whimsical background of flourished flowers and antique furniture.

A girl can only dream.

A Chanel Christmas

One of my favourite things about christmas is secret santa and this year was one of the best.
One of my best friends Holly bought me a little piece of Chanel in the form of the a/w Blue Satin Nail Colour.
It's a beautiful colour and fits right in with the recent Chanel campaign fronted by Georgia May Jagger, i'd recommend anyone looking to add a touch of designer to their nails to purchase this little bottle of magic.

Touched Photoshoot

Becoming a little bit of a workaholic of late , whether this is because of the pressure of college or the demand from university, im quite enjoying it.
Today I produced a photoshoot for a textile dress i created, based on the theme "touched".
My friend Emily modelled for me and we spent the afternoon running through corridors trying to find a 'good light' and 'nice brick wall'.
Anyway, the results are below- let me know what you think.

Inside Out

Below are a few images I have drawn, from my sketchbook for the brief
"Inside Out".

Is All Press , Good Press For Students?

Despite the coalition government coming to a final agreement to raise the student fees, yesterday saw thousands of students fighting back in protest.
As a student myself , I 100% agree with the backlash that has been caused because of the decision.
What I don't agree with however is the bad name that some of the protesters have been giving students.
This should be an oppertunity for students to have their say and make themselves heard and instead due to the bad publicity from the press, students have been branded "Yobs" and "Violent".
Although some protesters had taken the protest too far, I dont think its fair that all students have been stereotyped under the same name.
The press should be supporting young people fighting back and taking a stand for something they believe in, after all this is our future were talking about.
One things for sure good press or bad press, students will continue to fight on.
