Lucy In Disguise Illustrations

As soon as I found out that Lucy In Disguise's first collection would be featured in Elle this month, I rushed to WH Smith to buy it.
Much to my delight the collection is full of silks, sheers and sequins; the perfect juxtapose for summertime glamour.
I've decided to illustrate by hand, my two favourite outfits from the collection in my sketchbook and share them with you.
I'll be posting more of my final project up here soon too!

Lomo Loco

As part of my final major project, I have decided to create some illustration posters to represent my theme.
My chosen theme is photography and film and I have looked alot into lomography, so naturally I have chosen to promote lomo in my posters!
I really need to start illustrating again, only four months until I set off to London to do illustration at LCF..eek!
P.s please ignore the awful shadows and general bad quality of the upload, my camera is dreadful!

Bee Magazine- Birds Shoot

The past month, I have had a glimpse at what it's like to work in the magazine industry.
My class at college have been given the task of creating, designing and publishing an 80 (or so) page, high fashion magazine.
I was given the role of fashion editor and as a group we came up with a few themes for photo shoots and articles.
The one below is styled and shot by me and is based on the Alfred Hitchcock film 'Birds'.
I'm really pleased with the outcome and my model Amy looked amazing!

If you are interested in attending our Bee Magazine launch party, please feel free to come along!

Barcelona Bar, Liverpool
Friday 6th may 6pm- 10.30pm

Billie J Does It Best.

There comes a time in fashion when you get a bit bored of the norm. You've seen enough mulberry alexas that you start to hate Chung herself and that 'tights and socks' thing is no longer cool but boreing.
It's then that you start to look into other industries to find style inspiration.
Admittedly, i'd not even heard of Billie J.D Porter until the 'Joy of Teen Sex' but recognised her from several scarily cool photos in Vice magazine.
Billie has the sort of style that shouldn't work , her look is usually grown out roots in a messy top knot along with ripped tights and a patterned shirt.
For someone who's still in her teens , Billie has written for NME, Vice and blogged for Platform ,as well as famously reporting on the teen sex show.
It's clear that with her abrupt attitude and extreme coolness that Billie doesn't seem like the easiest person to get along with.
But with close friends like Sky Ferreira and Mark Ronson, Who Cares?

The Clubhouse Is A Shithouse

I've just returned from a two day camping trip in North Wales with my family and a friend.
I'm not an experienced camper and am definately not a fan of "roughing it", so most of the time was spent on the beach.
Below are some photos taken in film from the vacation.
Looking at these photos,I should probably start buying my own clothes instead of stealing my boyfriends..

Think of the summers of the past, adjust the base and let the alpine blast

For once in a blue moon, we've had sunshine this week in Liverpool.
Unfortunately i've been in college all week working on my final major project, so i've only been able to squeeze in a few hours in the Sun.
Lunchtimes have been spent on the field eating ice lollies and making daisy chains, my lovely friend Sam took the photo of me below on her i-phone.

P.s i've also decided to start using tumblr again. http://sophieharry.tumblr.com/

Mark Ronson- Believe the Hype.

I've always been a huge fan of Mark Ronson , but have never been fortunate to attend one of his Dj sets until last friday.
A friend of mine who is related to the music producer/Dj was generous enough to get me and a friend on the guestlist for the event at Chibuku Shake Shake in Liverpool and what an amazing night it was.
After coming on to "Bang Bang Bang"( a song he produced with the business international), he went on to play a 1 hour 40 minute set of classic hiphop and dance mixes that got the whole crowd buzzing.
What shocked and impressed me the most was exactly how many amazing tracks, Mark Ronson has been involved in (an obvious favourite 'Ooh Wee').
An event like this makes it painfully obvious why Mark is one of the most renown members of the music industry.

The Closest Thing I'll Get To Kirchhoff

It doesn't take alot to persuade me to spend a ridiculous amount of money on something that I can't really afford and it also doesn't take alot for me to use the words "But I HAVE to have it".
So logging on to Topshop. com this morning didn't make me feel any different.
After spending the last two years loathing after every single piece of Meadham Kirchhoff, it was much to my excitement that Topshop had decided to collaborate with the designers.
The result- a crazy juxtapose of print, breton, sequins and colours and to describe every item as a 'statement piece' would be an understatement.

A Suitcase Of Finds

A good friend of mine is studying fashion communication at JMU Liverpool and as part of her course, her and her friend came together to host a vintage fair at well known bar, Heebie Jeebies.
The top floor was filled with vintage delights from hand picked 1950's jewellery to battered biker boots and sent locals rummaging through tables for a piece of vintage treasure.
I bought a few bits that I will post on here soon, but for now heres some photos of the event.

A Stylish Gathering

I mentioned that I attended the "Bloggers masterclass" evening at Topshop a short while back and one of the things that I loved most about the event was the incredibly stylish audience that it attracted.
Known for fake tan and bad hair extensions, the night proved that Liverpool girls do have an individual and creative way of dressing (Suzie and Stevie didn't look too bad either).

Captured

Since last monday, my sketchbook is starting to take shape and much to my ( and my tutors) amazement i've finally got the knack for making samples.
I'm an absolute tool on a sewing machine usually and would rather draw a life size garment than make one from scratch.
Anyway, after gathering a juxtapose of materials and any crap that I could possible get my hands on ( negative film, news paper, acetate, fabric, cling film) I whipped out a collection of half decent samples.
Not one to ditch my fineliner, i also illustrated a few designer collections as part of my research and printed a few drawings and images onto acetate.
My next task is to create an installation mood board ,  i'm thinking an A3 size 3D camera.
Stay Tuned..
