Chace Cohl- Doe in the Headlights

Chace Cohl's style can only be described as boho chic, as headwear designer for website littledoeislove.com, Chace has done photoshoots for V magazine, the independant and has even appeared in style/ interior bible "The Selsby".
Chace teams vintage victorian dresses with lace up boots, chanel jackets with denim hotpants to create her signature calafornian hippy look.
Little doe's head dresses though , are something else.
They look as though they've been plucked from an MGMT video shoot and rolled around in the hills from the sound of music, to create something unique and exciting.
Little Doe designer, chace is also part of folk, hippie band Weepaw- confirming that Chace really can do everything.

An Aldridge Sister

As much as I still love Lily Aldridge and her calafornian style, her younger sister Ruby seems to be pulling more unique and exciting looks out of the bag.
She recently appeared in the Marc jacobs s/s 10 campaign and on the runway for Henry Holland.
Rubys' style expresses her fun loving personality and she's one of very few models who aren't afraid to pull a funny face every now and then.

Terry and Tumblr

So i re-activated my tumblr and got stuck right in.
Re-blogging, posting and quoting just for a bit of fun.
The one thing that struck me though, was the amount of photographs taken by Terry Richardson.
He's one of my favourite photographers and i'm a huge fan of his portraits against a white backdrop- that's terrys' thing.

Cycle Chic

I have a confession. I can't ride a bike.
I swear sometimes I can't even look at a bike without fearing its going to run me over and knock me flat on my face.
My attitude on the subject has always been that "No one even rides bikes these days, im never going to need to".
This stemmed from several lessons from my best friend, in which I held on to her the whole time whilst screaming and cursing every obsticle in my way.
But recently I've had to swallow my words , with four weeks until I go to Paris , i'm starting to think I should do the Parisian thing- pull on my best boots and circle the city on bike.
I've scoured lookbook after lookbook and blog after blog and bikes really are the accessory for s/s 11.
Looks like I'll be sorceing wicker baskets before I know it.

Kate Moss and Lea T for LOVE

I actually want to squeel a little, new LOVE is out on 7th february and @Lovemagazine has just tweeted one of the various magazine covers..
LOVE the magazine.
HATE that it's only published twice a year.

My Music Is Where I'd Like You To Touch

When told that we were allowed to choose our own brief this term for college, I jumped at the chance of exploring a familiar topic and learning a little bit more about it.
Two hours later, I decided that my theme would be based around album and vinyl covers along with gig leaflets and flyers.
To begin my research process, I have started to gather a large number of cd's, leaflets and vinyl covers to draw from.
Heres how i've gotten on so far..

Pleats and Dip Dye - Felicity Brown

Felicity Brown has to be my favourite designer of all time.
Her work is something that's inavative, beautiful and dareing all at once.
It's clear that Brown is not afraid to play around with textile samples, each dress looks like its been thought out a million times, manipulated over and over and then dip dyed perfectly to add a quirky touch to something perfect.
I first became aware of her work when researching for new designers for a project back in September, at the time she was showcasing for the NEWGEN Topshop catwalk at London Fashion week.
As word spreads about Felicity's incredible work , i'm sure she'll become renown for her elegent and quirky textile work.
Something that not every designer knows about , these days.

Anna Dello Russo - A Juxtapose of Style.

Today i found a new style crush in the form of Japanese Vogue editor, Anna Dello Russo.
Admittedly I didn't know much about her ,except she'd appeared in the Lanvin for H&M runway show about a month ago and i'd occasionally seen her on the style pages of a few magazines.
But Glamour changed all of this, the new issue features a six page interview/photoshoot with the style icon and gives readers an insight into a more quirkier and exciting style icon than usual.
Her wardrobe looks like its been handpicked by Patricia Field, with rail upon rail of embellished jackets, patterned dresses and a shoe collection that Carrie Bradshaw would be prowd of.
Anna's look is very 90's inspired, she pulls a juxtapose of colour and texture together to create something that modern day style icons such as Alexa Chung and Olivia Palermo would never even think of.

Yesterday, I Made A Turban.

Anyone who knows' me , will know how much I have wanted a turban ever since Carrie Bradshaw sported one in the newest Sex and the City film. So as part of my Inside Out Project for college , I decided to create one myself.
Two Needles, alot of impatience and three youtube videos later, here's the result .

A Look Into My Wardrobe

Mulberry Spring Summer 11 Campaign

As a seventeen year old girl, I probably look at ad campaigns and magazine spreads differently to an older women with a high salary.
For them an ad campaign is directed at them, they are being sold something that  they can purchase but for me as a fashion student, I lust after ad campaigns.
I see them as something I can't have , in theory this could make me appreciate them more,
As a lover of Mulberry, I spent the past few months collecting Mulberry Lookbooks, wondering aimelessly around Selfridges and flicking through issues of Vogue, all for a glimpse of the Mulberry Alexa.
And now its another season and another bag.
I can't help but get that yearning feeling in my stomach over this campaign, I love the toughness of the satchel against the whimsical background of flourished flowers and antique furniture.

A girl can only dream.
